Sustainability

Arthur Mallon Foods are proud to be a Gold member of Origin Green Ireland’s food and drink sustainability program.
It is a voluntary program, led by Bord Bia, bringing together our food industry – from farmers to food producers, retailers to food service operators – with the common goal of sustainable food production. This program enables Ireland’s food industry to set and achieve measurable sustainability targets that respect the environment and serve local communities more effectively.
We are conscious of our responsibility to operate as a sustainable business and are committed to doing that well. That means having a purpose beyond profit – one that ensures we give equal priority to reducing our impact on the environment and increasing the positive difference we can make in society. This ethos applies across every area of our operations, we are very proud that our progress to date has recently awarded us Origin Green Gold Membership.
We are pleased to present our 2023 sustainability vision.
Key Sustainability commitments we are working towards are:
Increase the % of suppliers with recognised sustainability certification
Maintain 100% of meat sourced from suppliers with Bord Bia QAS or equivalent
Increase the use of Recyclable Packaging on product by 15% over a five-year period
Reduce Electricity consumption by 5% over a five-year period
Reduce Food Waste by 1.2% annually totalling 6% over a five-year period
Target to introduce two new SKUs over the next five years with additional health benefits
Introduce two employee incentives annually

“We are extremely proud to achieve Origin Green Gold member status this year. The whole Mallon’s team continue to work hard to meet our targets and are committed to building a more sustainable future for our customers and our staff.”
